The BMM programme follows semester system introducing the students to a variety of disciplines which blended with theory and practical application paved the way to approach the media from diverse perspective. The course is meant for the students who are zealous and passionate to build their career in media. BMM course is embedded with Continuous assessment and extensive project work in each semester. The course is spread over 6 semesters, and in the final year of the course, students are needed to choose an area of specialization such as Journalism or Advertising We prepare young professionals toward exciting careers with an in depth understanding of industry.
Besides the course requirements, we ensure that the students are engaged with other co-curricular activities, which include publishing a quarterly newsletter The Chronicles of Wilson, vibrant departmental film society that exposes films across the world, outreach activities etc. Lectures of eminent persons from the fields of theatre, literature, cinematography, advertising, journalism are frequently organised. Film screenings and workshops are done for brainstorming and discussions. Cultural & Industrial visits expose students to local cultures and pertinent issues of those regions. Polaris is the BMM fest that draws in around 35 Mumbai colleges to the event. Polaris, the intercollegiate festival hosted by the BMM department of Wilson College successfully celebrated its 18th year. Polaris, usually the first festival of the academic year throughout Mumbai, is known to have been setting trends since its debut in the year 2001.
John Wilson Education Society's Wilson College has a long standing history. Founded by Dr. John Wilson, the founder of Bombay University, in the year 1832. Wilson College has a NAAC "A" Accreditation since 2005.
