BAF Department Highlights

Accounting and Finance play a prominent role in the today’s modern Business world. Keeping in mind the increasing demand for trained professionals in this field, the Department of Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting & Finance) i.e. BAF was introduced in the year 2016-17. BAF programme is a three-year comprehensive programme with the objective to improve self-employment and provide benefits to Corporate organizations by providing them with suitable trained students in the field of Accounting & Finance including Cost accounting, Auditing, IT, Taxation, Economics and Business Law, Business communications, by mode of professional interactions, presentations, projects, guest lectures, industrial visits and internships. The Department of BAF aims at maintaining academic excellence and equipping students with the skills necessary to face the challenges of the business world in accounting and finance as well as all-round development of the students personality. It will give a global perspective on investment markets and asset classes, provide practical as well as theoretical knowledge on the processes and mechanics underlying investment, and build on students' existing numerical skills so that they are able to understand and practice investment-related mathematics. The reformed syllabus caters to the growing and varying needs of students to upscale and be competitive to the modernized and changing needs of the modern business world. After completion of BAF programme, the graduate can pursue various courses and make career such as Chartered Accountant, Cost Accountant, ACCA, Financial Analysts, Credit Analysts, Senior Accountant, Financial Planner, Company Secretary Ship, Master in Commerce (M.Com), Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance, an MS in Finance and Accounting, etc. Academics: Each year consists of two semesters and, in all, the programme comprises 40 papers. The performance of the learners is evaluated through two methods: first method is the internal examination assessment of 25 marks and the second method is the external examination assessment of 75 marks.

Eligibility: -

XIIth passed Candidates in Commerce, Arts or Science who have scored a minimum of 45% marks in the first attempt or its equivalent.

Activites:

The Department of BAF regularly conducts Seminars, Technical Workshops, Quiz competitions and Guest lectures as it is considered as an important part of the learning process. Further, the Internship initiatives help students of BAF to train and provide work experience under different sectors / industries be it from a large multinational corporation to a small start-up entity. Another aspects which are taken care of, by The Department of BAF, is encouraging the students to participate in research work through research papers/ publications conducted in conferences, conducting of regular parents-teachers meeting, organizing mentoring sessions as well as remedial lectures, placement drive, etc. The Department of BAF also organizes Calligo, an annual Inter Collegiate fest Event. The Fest is sponsored by popular brands and hosts a variety of events including debate, competition, quiz, etc. in the two days long fest.

CA. Kruti Bavishi

Teaching Career
Qualifications: Chartered Accountant, M.Com and UGC-NET

CA.Kruti Bavishi is leading as an Incharge of the Department of Bachelor of Accounting and Finance (i.e. BAF). She is a Chartered Accountant by qualification and holds a Master’s degree in Commerce. She has over 6 years of experience in income taxand international tax and has represented clients across various levels of taxation judiciary. During her stint with PriceWaterhouseCoopers and Deloitte, she has worked for clients in sectors such as financial services, media, FMCG, etc. She has also contributed to various articles / books chapters published. Taking her corporate hands-on experience, she began her career in the field of education and in a short period of two years is now leading the BAF department.

Ms. Shruti Ujgaonkar

Teaching Career :
Qualifications: UGC-NET, M-SET and M.Com (Accountancy)

Ms.Shruti is an Assistant Professor, working as teaching faculty for Department of BAF. Her qualification is UGC-NET, M-SET and M.Com (Accountancy). She has good teaching experience in education field. She does contribute in the publication of Research papers.

Ms.Saloni Bordia is an Assistant Professor, working as teaching faculty for Department of BAF. She holds certification in UGC-NET and degree in M.Com (Accountancy). She has good teaching experience in education field.
